Your Bylaw Officer/Community Safety Officer

Bruce Ehalt is a former Saskatoon City Police officer and a current Bylaw Officer/Community Safety Officer (CSO) in the Town of Lanigan. CSOs deliver high priority/low risk to harm community safety services, provide our community with an additional uniformed presence, ensure safety measures for our residents and businesses, and offer a higher level of bylaw enforcement to the Town. The primary objective is public education and achievement of voluntary compliance when there are bylaw infractions. However, there will be formal enforcement of bylaws, and CSOs will have the authority to issue tickets and prosecute if and when necessary. CSOs also have the authority to enforce moving traffic violations and will work closely with RCMP where needed.

Community Safety Officer’s Message to Residents

Homeowners of Town of Lanigan,

We are reaching out to the homeowners within the Town asking if, where possible, you would consider also placing your street name and house number on your back gate/fence.

If you require emergency assistance in your backyard, you can better assist the responders by having them visible on your back gate/fence. This will ensure those responding to your call for help will arrive at the correct location with minimum lost time.

Time is everything when you or a family member requires help.

The Town’s Emergency responders say “Thank you”!
