The Town and Bylaw Officer/Community Safety Officer would like to kindly remind you that:

  1. In accordance with the Dog Bylaw (2/2004), dogs require a valid dog licence.
  2. Dogs must be on leash in all public areas. It is your responsibility as a pet owner to keep your dog in your control.
  3. The owner of a dog shall not at any time allow the dog to run at large.
  4. The owner of a dog shall not at any time allow the dog to encroach on any private property other than his/her own.
  5. The owner of a dog shall not allow the animal to create a nuisance to any person by barking, howling, attempting to bite or biting anyone, chasing vehicles or bicycles.
  6. If a dog defecates on any public or private property other than the property of the owner, the owner shall immediately remove and dispose of the defecation in a sanitary manner. Please do not put the defecation bag in your neighbor’s garbage bins.
  7. Any dog owner found in violation of the Dog Bylaw may be subject to ticketing and enforcement.

If you experience an issue with dog, please report it to the Town Office at 306-365-2809 or townoffice@lanigan.ca. Bylaw Officer/Community Safety Officer follows up on all reports of aggressive dog behaviour, and your report helps them effectively deal with issues and ensure community safety.
