Council passed a bylaw at the first meeting in June to extend the time for the assessment roll to be open for the purpose of appeals. This process is normally completed by May 31 and the legislation requires it to be completed by May 31 unless it is extended, which was done by bylaw. The assessment roll opened June 10th and will close July 10th as the roll must be open for inspection and subject to appeal for 30 days. Following closure of the assessment roll, tax notices will be prepared and issued, which we are targeting the week of July 15th as there is a process of balancing, testing and preparation of the notices.

The payment discount will be eligible until August 31st this year due to the delay in processing property tax notices.
