I had the honour of being presented the first poppy in Lanigan by Jim Hatcher, the Branch President of Lanigan Legion Branch 143. Remembrance Day is fast approaching, and I hope everyone will support our Legion and all the veterans by purchasing a poppy and wear it in their honor.
I think we all know of someone who has served our country to give us the freedoms we have today.
Myself, my Great Great Grandpa Vincent Conelley served in World War 1 and My Grandpa Jim Mycock and Great Uncle Harry Mycock served in the British Air Force in World War 2 along with their brother Joe who served in the British Army. Let’s all take a moment on Nov 11th to remember the sacrifices that were made for all of us.
- Mayor Tony Mycock
