A water leak has been detected at the intersection of Hwy 16 and Munster Street and an emergency repair is planned to start at 9:00 AM Monday, March 17, 2025. Because the leak is detected in the middle of the intersection, the repair work will affect traffic on Hwy 16 in both directions. We are working in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and there will be a planned detour in place for the duration of this repair work. There will be no access to Hwy 16 within the town limits during this detour. A copy of the planned detour is attached and will come into effect Monday morning, March 17th.
The repair work will also affect homes and businesses with water shut off during the repair work, being:
16 - 23 Antrim Street
500- 700 Commercial Drive
8 – 23 Munster Street
75 – 130 Railway Avenue
1 – 7 Shannon Crescent
9 – 23 Wexford Street
We anticipate that the repair work will be completed in one day; however, with frozen ground conditions, there is a risk of the repair work taking more than one day and everyone affected should plan accordingly. We assure you that it is a high priority to reduce the impact of this repair as much as is possible.
We will provide updates on this repair project as it progresses throughout the day on Monday.
