Council Meeting Highlights (July 22, 2024)

The Council of the Town of Lanigan held a regular meeting on July 22, 2024, and following are highlights of the meeting:

  • Mayor and Council proclaimed September 23 to 29, 2024 as Rail Safety Week. There will be more to follow on this with posting of the proclamation on the town website and social media.
  • Mayor and Council approved the Town of Lanigan Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Action Plan. The policy and action plan is available at the Town Office and is posted on the town website and social media.
  • Mayor and Council authorized TAXervice to commence tax enforcement proceedings to request title on assessment roll numbers 78, 112, 191 and 631 due to outstanding unpaid property taxes.
  • Changes have been approved by Mayor and Council related to the Triland Trailer Court (Triland), as follows:
    • Administration has been authorized to engage a surveyor to subdivide Triland into individual titled lots.
    • A new lease agreement has been developed to enable longer term lease arrangements that will better support opportunities for individual financing for the purchase of existing or new mobile or manufactured homes.
    • A community meeting will take place with the existing Triland tenants to provide information and answer any questions tenants may have about the subdivision process.
    • Triland Trailer Court will be renamed to Triland Court.

A reminder that the August 12, 2024 regular Council meeting has been cancelled due to vacation scheduling and the next regular meeting of Council will be August 26, 2024.
