Hello everyone.
Swimming Pool - 2024 Season Starts June 1st!
To continue with the theme of focusing on Town staff, I want to give a big thank you to our seasonal Swimming Pool Manager Katelynn Psovsky who has taken the reigns of managing the Lanigan swimming pool for the 2024 season. You will notice activity around the swimming pool last week as public works staff drained the pool, Katelynn and the lifeguards cleaned the pool liner and the pool was being refilled. Over this past weekend. Western Recreation has assisted with getting the pool operational for this season as was part of their contract when they got the tender for the pool. It will be great to have the new pool for a full season this year. Here is hoping for some sunshine and warmer temperatures. For the 2025 season we can look forward to the finishing touch on the pool as we will be installing the water slide this fall so it will be ready for next season.
I'm happy that we received great interest from young adults to be lifeguards for this year and we will have a great season under Katelynn's leadership. Swimming lesson registration night was held on May 13, and it was very successful with a great turn out. Thank you to Katelynn and her team for getting the registration night done. It was great to see such a great turn out!
Celebrate Lanigan
Mark your calendars for June 21, 22 and 23 for fun times at Celebrate Lanigan this year. There will be a community BBQ on Friday evening hosted by the Town of Lanigan. Saturday is packed full of events such as a pancake breakfast, slo-pitch tournament, kids carnival, dog trials, parade, car show, youth soccer tournament and a Filipino supper. Saturday night wraps up with Forty Ounce Philosophy playing and fireworks! Sunday will include an interdenominational church service and antique tractor pull. Thank you to Cadence and the office team for taking on this big undertaking in such a short time frame. This is normally planned out in months and has been put together in weeks. Great job and let's all get out and show our community pride!
I look forward to hearing from you!
Regards,
- Mayor Tony Mycock
